Despite knowing that Kestrel wants to keep the dragonets safe, she doesn't understand why the SkyWing is always so mean about her not looking like a normal SandWing or Glory being a RainWing. Sunny believes the best in Kestrel and trusts her as a guardian. Sunny believes that Glory is perfect the way she is, and was unwilling to enchant Glory into a SkyWing to make her fit the prophecy.ĭespite Kestrel hating everything, she seems to dislike Sunny the least. She encouraged him gently during the dragonets' animus test, and agreed with him when he stated his belief that she could never turn evil. The dragonets were greatly surprised when the rock fulfilled her request, but Sunny was the most shocked.Ĭlay is like an older brother to Sunny, and she cares deeply about him. Sunny's turn came last she politely asked her rock to fly up and touch the cave ceiling and then return to her talons. Tsunami gave them some rocks and told them to enchant the rocks to fly up to the cave ceiling and then return to their claws. Sunny's hatching was witnessed by Starflight, and the two of them quickly took to playing with the other dragonets.Īt age three, Sunny participated in an animus test hosted by Tsunami to see if any of the dragonets had magic. She also had some black scales and lacked the usual black SandWing eyes, as her eyes are green, which led to the assumption she was taken from the sand earlier than usual. She was the last hatched, and upon hatching, she was revealed to have neither a venomous barb on her tail nor pale, sandy, yellow scales as a normal SandWing should have. Her egg was later brought outside, along with the others, to hatch in the moonlight under Dune's suggestion. Sunny was brought as an egg to the cave where the dragonets were kept by Dune, who claimed he had found her egg alone and hidden in the sand. Although, Dune mentioned the name "Beetle" while naming Sunny, which was the pet name Thorn had given her egg and had been continuing to call her that while searching for her. This could mean that Dune still respected, cared about, or was even loyal to Thorn, despite taking her egg to fulfill the dragonet prophecy. It seems that she liked the name "Sunny" since that is what Dune named her. However, it appears that the two SandWings were once close friends, as Thorn mentioned discussing names for her egg with him. Thorn has even put up "wanted" signs for him during the years. Thorn took this as a sign of betrayal and had been searching for him for many years, hoping to capture and kill him. ![]() Since hearing the story of Prince Albatross, she is nervous about her magic and worries about hurting or killing her friends.Ī SandWing named Dune, a former Outclaw, stole Sunny's egg from Thorn after she had buried it in the sand near the Scorpion Den. ![]() She would never intentionally hurt or betray anyone, and truly cares about fulfilling the Dragonet Prophecy. She dislikes when her friends argue, and often dislikes when someone calls her simple or sweet. Sunny's personality remains largely the same as her canon counterpart - she is easy-to-laugh, sympathetic, reassuring, excitable, and wants to believe the best in every dragon. Despite having scales that radiate warmth, her tail lacks the venomous barb of typical SandWings and instead curls to an ordinary point. She has black talons and ears, some black scales spattered across her nose like freckles, and green eyes. She has golden wings that are dotted with a scattering of jet-black scales, a trait she shares with her ancestor, Whiteout. Sunny has tawny, golden-yellow scales with some black scales scattered here and there.
